Specialized floor coverings for better bacteria control
HEALTH CENTRES AND CLINICS
The type of floor covering recommended for health centres and clinics is undoubtedly homogeneous vinyl, suitable for heavy traffic. Floor coverings in hospitals are usually installed with a raised coving to make the floor waterproof and thus better manage the control of bacteria. Their installation requires precise technique and know-how to obtain appropriate results.
Solathèque has been installing vinyl floors with raised coving for more than 25 years. Our work meets the highest industry standards, such as INSPQ (Quebec Public Health Expertise and Reference Centre) regulations, described in their document Infection Prevention and Control Measures in the Emergency Department.

One of Solathèque’s key achievements is the new Hospital Center of the University of Montreal (CHUM), a project of noteworthy scale. The job included over 20,000 square meters of flooring, more than 15 kilometers of raised coving and nearly 62,000 square feet of vinyl wall covering. In collaboration with the consortium Construction Santé Montréal, Solathèque produced quality works tailored to the specific needs of the project.Solathèque offers a wide range of floor coverings suitable for hospitals and clinics. From cost estimation to execution, Solathèque offers “turnkey” services.
