Solathèque Wins Gold - Starnet Design Awards
In the Spring of 2018, Solathèque proudly won the GOLD Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Awards in the HEALTH CARE category. This prestigious competition is organized each year by Starnet Flooring – the largest group of commercial flooring specialists in North America with 171 specialized contractors serving over 300 areas.
The prize was awarded to Solathèque for the realization of its CHUM project, a major renovation and construction project designed by NEUF Architect(e)s and Cannon Design. This award highlights the innovative use of flooring in a commercial design using Altro, ARDEX Americas, Gerflor USA and Tarkett | Johnsonite products.
CHUM Project Overview
The CHUM is a 3 million square foot university medical center located in downtown Montreal, covering two complete blocks of the city — one of the largest construction projects in the North America. The vision for the CHUM was to solve the problem of obsolete infrastructures and facilities; to revitalize the social framework and an entire sector of the urban core of Montreal.
