Three Maison des aînés: flooring designed for residents’ comfort

Carrying out three large-scale projects at the same time is a challenge in itself. That’s exactly what we did with the Maison des aînés in Blainville, Chomedey, and Repentigny. Our mandate: to complete all the work related to floor coverings and ceramic tile installations, essential elements in creating warm, safe, and welcoming living environments for residents.

Before installing the coverings, we carried out a complete preparation of the floors. The application of an external vapor barrier membrane made it possible to control humidity and prevent future moisture problems, ensuring surfaces were ready to receive the new coverings.

In the bedrooms, corridors, and common areas, we installed Marmoleum with cushioned backing. This flooring is recognized for its comfort underfoot, ease of maintenance, and its ability to meet the daily needs of care environments. With heat-welded seams, the result is a smooth, hygienic surface perfectly suited to community living in a Maison des aînés.

We also carried out the installation of ceramic tile in all resident bathrooms as well as in the common areas. This choice ensures both style and functionality, meeting the highest requirements of hygiene and maintenance in heavily used spaces.

Successfully managing these three construction sites at the same time required rigorous coordination and close monitoring of every stage. Our teams worked efficiently to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.
